CertainTeed warranties take that a step further with different levels of coverage and extended coverage periods.
CertainTeed SureStart Protection for General Asphalt Shingles
This warranty covers repair or replacement of any shingles determined to be defective during the SureStart period. Roof tear off, flashing, disposal, and other expenses are not covered except for certain products that have a lifetime warranty. After the SureStart period, CertainTeed warranties cover the cost of repairing and replacing defective shingles less a reduction figure that is based on the age of the installation. CertainTeed SureStart Plus Protection
Bill West Roofing, Inc. holds the SELECT ShingleMaster certification, enabling us to extends the coverage and length of coverage of the standard SureStart protection for single-family detached homes. There are three different levels of protection:
- 3 Star Coverage: Covers shingles for 20 years, without proration, and includes materials, labor and tear off costs associated with repair and replacement of defective shingles. These CertainTeed warranties are transferable for 10 years.
- 4 Star Coverage: Covers shingles for 50 years, without proration, and includes materials, labor, tear off, and disposal costs associated with repairs and replacement. These CertainTeed warranties are transferable for 12 years.
- 5 Star Coverage: Offers the same coverage as 4 Star Coverage with additional 25 year protection against defective workmanship. These CertainTeed warranties are transferable for 15 years.
